While at the Wellington tunnel, it's not easy to miss two small towers with vents on each side of the canal. These towers apparently provided ventilation for the tunnel when it was in use.

One of these towers seems very much still in use, despite the tunnel being abandonned. With its new padlocks, and various steel-sealed doors it claims to be a pumping station. That's all well and nice, but it doesn't do much for exploration.

However, the other "tower" is totally abandonned. So, of course, we decided to see what was inside.
